  • Beginning Pottery - 2015 Spring Schedule

  • Children's Classes

    • Fun Pots (Ages 5-15) March 28th 1:00 - 3:00 $25

      Add Flair to your table. Students will create their own unique pot/bowl. They will be shown various examples to encourage their critical thinking as they decide what they will make. Examples include: monsters, ladybugs, bees, lion, and flowers. Various methods will be used during the creation process. Feet will be attached as the final task. These kid’s pots are sure to please and bring a smile to your face. Once finished these pots are great to catch pocket change and vehicle keys on your table. Your check, made payable to NCCS, may be mailed to The Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. Attention: Mary is due by March 27th, 2015 or by prior arrangement.

    • Mother's Day Plate, (Ages 5-13) Saturday, April 11, 1:00 - 3:00 $25

      You will create a unique-one of a kind-plate for that special woman in your life for Mother's Day. The slab technique will be used to roll out the clay. Creativity will be used to add brightly colored glaze and decorations to your special plate. Your name and date will be added to the plate to make this a true keepsake! Made of durable white stoneware the plate is designed to last for years to come.  Payment is requested in advance and you may mail your check, made payable to NCCS, to The Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.   • Teen Workshops - Finally a workshop just for teens....YEA!!

    • Teen Wheel Throwing Workshops (Ages 13-18 on Saturdays in April) 8:00 -10:00 $65
      Join us at The Ceramic Arts Center and learn how to throw on the wheel on 3 Saturday mornings in April starting on the 11th from 8:00-10:00.....What else do you have to do?  except sleep, which is highly overrated. Pre-register for all four Saturdays for only $75.00. The first session is 3 hours - from 8:00-11:00 but the remaining sessions are 2 hours. You'll have fun learning and playing in the mud on a Saturday morning.  You may send a check, made out to NCCS, to The Ceramic Arts Center 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA.   • Corks and Clay Workshops for Adults

     

    • Ceramic Luminaria (March 20th 6:00 - 8:00) $30
      Shine your light! Join us at the Ceramics Arts Center (13 South Church Street, Waynesboro) to create a unique ceramic luminary to light up your home, patio or special place. During this 2-hour session you'll create a slab container, with cut out design of your choice, under the guidance of your instructor, Trudy Gembe-Palughi. Trudy will assist you step by step. Each workshop includes all materials, glaze and firings. Invite your friends for a unique night out on the town. Drinks and snacks are encouraged, BYOB. Class size is limited to 8. $30.00 pp. Payment is requested in advance and you may mail your check, made payable to NCCS, to The Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.     • Coil Crock (April 10, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00) $30
      The possibilities are endless for this one of a kind coil crock.  Use it as a planter on your patio, utensil holder in your kitchen, candle holder and more.  During this 2 hour session, Heather Forberger will guide you step by step in how to create coil crock, using coil and hand-building techniques. Students will have the opportunity to use various decorative applications to make their crock truly their own masterpiece.  Each workshop includes all materials, glaze and firings. Invite your friends for a unique night out on the town. BYOB!  Drinks and snacks are encouraged.  The Ceramic Arts Center of Waynesboro is located at 13 South Church Street.  Register with your friends or as an individual and make new friends. Private sessions of 6 or more are also available upon request. Payment is requested in advance and you may mail your check, made payable to NCCS, to The Ceramic Arts Center, 13 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
